Seporah didn’t do a lot of the normal baby/toddler activities that most younger children do. So now when Felicity does them it’s a real treat for us. We just go “ahhh! isn’t that cute?“ (rather than “you remember when her big sister did that” like most parents). Right now Felicity is in the pack-rat stage. Pretty much everywhere she goes she has a ”purse“ (or plastic bag or tupperware, whatever will hold her stuff at that moment) with all sorts of little treasures. Some of them are obviously the good stuff, like money, necklaces, cell phones and the cool toys. But some of them I’m just like really do you really want that, like day old chicken nuggets that were found under the couch or mom and dad’s Sunday School manuel or nails that were in the tool drawer. And if you try take away the junk all you’ll get is “MINE! MINE!”
Yesterday we were getting the girls dressed in pajamas but we were going out for a short errand right before bedtime. Usually I let Seporah pick out her clothes and often they don’t match, but when it comes to her pajamas, they really don’t match. You can end up with pink plaid bottoms and a green flower top or purple stripped bottoms and a yellow slippers top. So I had to intervene so she looked somewhat presentable. I found some Christmas pajamas (that I got on clearance last year on the after holiday sales, gotta love those) and tried to put them on Seporah. Seporah was quite irritated that she didn’t get to pick out her own clothes and was not being very helpful. So I totally talked up the snowman pajamas, “Oh wow, Seporah look at the snowman pajamas, they have snowmen! Aren’t these the coolest pajamas ever!” It worked and she got in them. Felicity looked down at her old hand-me down pajamas confused like and said, “Where’s my snowman?”
Why Felicity your snowman is at grandpa and grandma Albright’s home. You can get them when you visit them next month! 🙂
You just have to know how to tell the story!
Bet she loves all the snowmen here 🙂
