So this is my knee post surgery. I have been laid up since Saturday, although I am feeling much better today.
So on to the Felicity story. She woke up last night at around midnight and came in to wake me up to tell me she had to go potty. She normally doesn’t do that, she normally just goes in her diaper and gets changed in the morning. I’m happy that she is pottying, but not happy she is waking me up. Anyway, I know I have to wake up and make sure she gets her diaper back on, because she never puts it on herself. I wait about 10 minutes, and get up, and walk into her room and ask her if she put her diaper back on. She smiles and says “Yes Daddy”, all proud of herself. I am surprised, and pat her bottom over the blanket to make sure, and sure enough there is a diaper down there. The next morning I am surprised with a urine covered child, from head to toe. She had put the diaper on inside out. =)
Wait a minute . . . knee surgery? What knee surgery? Why? I have clearly missed this. Explanations, please.
No biggie really. Basically my knee has been infected for about 15 months by a thorn I knelt on forever ago. They kept draining bloody fluid from it, several times, but it wouldn’t heal and an MRI showed that there was still wood or thorn material in my knee so they had to cut out the bursa sack over my right knee.
How very sweet! It sounds like she was so proud of herself. Sorry there was a mess to clean up 🙁 but glad she is working towards becoming even more independent 🙂
Hope your knee is healing really well and fast.
Sounds like she is realy growing up. Gosh I would love to see them. Maybe April or May? Is there a marathon on the Island about then?
Please keep us updated on how the knee is doing, My knees have been giving me problems lately as well. but mostly just because I live and work on the second floor and there is no elivater. My poor knees are not used to having to work for a living, On the good side I have lost 17 lb since I came to Okinawa in early October.
