I Think If Given the Opportunity to Dump All Responsibilities For a Week, I Would Lay on the Beach Reading With a Fruity Little Non-Alcoholic Drink In My Hand (Hey, I Live In the Right State For It)

When I was younger and had significantly less responsibilities I use to read 2-5 books a week. Now I read about 1 book a week for pleasure. That’s about the most I can fit in with 2 not-quite-potty-trained preschoolers, a full time job, a house that needs cleaned, food that needs cooked, laundry that needs washed, and a husband that would like to see me every now and then. Unfortunately, I have this problem see. Every time I see a book store I walk in and buy at least 2 books, more likely 3 or 4 though, thinking I still read like I use to. I end up with mounds of books just sitting there waiting to be read. A couple of days ago we were in Borders and I had 4 books in my hand that I really, really wanted to read, but ended up setting down because all of a sudden I had a child with poopy underwear and no wipes or diapers of any sort, so we ended up going home in a hurry. I got home and was all sad that I didn’t purchase them and then looked around and was like, well I have no shortage of supply of books right now.

Some of the books in my house waiting to be read by me (see serious problem, especially when factoring the fact that the 4 of us live in only 800 sq ft… maybe I should get a Kindle) (no not really, Steven, don’t buy me one, that was a joke, I hate reading off screens):

BTW, the book I’m reading now just in case you were wondering:

And I do read a lot of other non-chick lit stuff, but usually those are the ones that don’t get set on the shelves for another day.

Oh and also BTW, I love writing extremely long run on titles just for the fun of it.

Oh and this counts as posting again. Plus there was even pictures…kinda.

  1. Welcome back; we’ve missed you! And, the withdrawals at not having your posts to read was not pretty. I think your mother needed to sedate me a few times while I rambled on about not having your posts to read! 🙂

Love you, and enjoy your reading time…

  2. BTW: What happened to the picture bar aross the top of RushingAround? It does not come up like before…

  3. Hey, if you wait a few years, some of those books would be great to read with the girls, like “Levin Thumps.” Glad to hear you get one book in each week. Other than scriptures, not so much reading around here for me. It took me since you left to finish the book I was reading. I’m onto a new one my Aunt Diana insisted I would love called “The Shack,” but I am in a very sad, too close to nightmares, never should happen part near the beginning. I am not sure I want to finish it, but feel like it will be worth it if I can get through a few more chapters so I will probably trudge on with tears and all.

Keep on reading. By the way, although the numbers are much smaller here, I bet I have enough reading material for a year or more too.

    Love you 🙂

  4. I love the variety of your books; that says a lot about you. Must be one of the reasons I admire you so much. I’ve read a few on your list there; there is one i disliked so much that it got me writing with the desire to correct it (The Red Tent). We should have a book exchange! (And it is GREAT to hear from you again – please don’t ever stop posting!)
