I woke up today and thought, “I am the luckiest girl in the world, I get to go see my husband.” I know it was the cheesiest line ever, but it totally ran through my head. I practically jumped out of bed when I woke up. I went out, but Steven had taken the girls out so I could sleep (since I worked last night and the next 3 nights). But really, I am pretty lucky. I’ve been a little sick (airplanes and cold weather do that to you, ya know), but I still really had to work (I have NO vacation days due to a change in contracts and I’m already taking 4 days off for vacation last week and surgery next week that I’m not getting paid for). And my hubby makes me dinner before I go to work and breakfast when I get home and tucks me in and cleans the house and takes the kids out so I can sleep. He’s awesome.
P.S. I really will update on the vacation (with pictures, I promise), probably when I’m laid up next week wishing I could kill my ENT Doc due to the pain.
Your are the luckiest girl in the world because you realize how special life is and how wonderful to have loved ones who care for you.
As for me, I am the luckiest person in the world. I have great kids, grandkids, and the world’s greatest wife. Life can’t get much better than this.
I have been battling the same cold you have but I think it hit me harder. I have been in bed for over 24 hours now and although I feel well rested (probably the drugs), I have yet to kick this terrible cough and chills.
We loved having you and the family visit for the holidays; it was one of the many highlights of our year.

I didn’t realize that you are having surgery. What’s going on? . . .
Just getting my tonsils taken out. About the most minor surgery possible. I’ll probably still be howling from the pain, “Steven! I need my ice cream NOW!!!! And a double dose of codeine!” 😉 Nurses make the WORST patients.
