One year olds aren’t bound by the same social stigmas that adults are. Case in point: Mommy finds Felicity eating found candy (where does she keep on finding this stuff). Mommy decides that Felicity has had way too much candy in the last couple of days and therefore takes it away and throws it in the icky trash. Now you or me, if our favorite food was put in a full trash bin, would say no, I don’t think I’ll have that piece. Felicity, on the other hand, digs right in – and when Mommy decides it’s a better idea to take the trash to the trash chute, proceeds to throw a fit and curse me in toddlerese.
Ahh, the stubbornness of toddlers, and you have it doubly so. From my point of view, it is better to bribe with candy than console the toddlerese. But that’s a grandpa’s take on it and I am sure that is my job. 🙂
Love you,
Lonnie has a t-shirt that reads: “Grandpa’s job – load the grandkids up with sugar and send home.”
I am glad for toddlerese and not really knowing what they are saying. Brayden tells me how it is and how it is going to be along with shaking his finger at me. I don’t know the words but I understand the attitude!
