First things first- I RAN A MARATHON!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!! Yeppers, I did it last Sunday, all 26.2 miles! One life goal down, only about a million to go. It was great. Actually around mile 10 my knee was killing me, I was ready to cry. But then Sarah brought me motrin around mile 14 and I was pumped again (seriously if Sarah hadn’t brought that to me I don’t think I would have made it, I’ve got a stupid bum knee that starts having a really stabbing pain at 8-10 miles, rather obnoxious). I thought I’d be crawling through the finish line, but at mile 22 I was seriously pumped, I was like dude, I can do this. And you know what else, I dragged Steven and Jason along with me 😉 They signed up the day before the run at the expo.
Next-We took the girl’s to Disneyland. BTW, bit of advice, do not go to Disneyland the 2 following days after running a marathon, your body needs time to heal, not more abuse. Seriously, in every single picture I looked wiped (the ones I took kinda show it too, that I really wasn’t in the mood to take nicer ones). We did have a blast though. Felicity was like, “Look! Look! Look!” And Seporah was pointing everything out as well. The best part for Seporah was when we went to a Playhouse Disney Play and she got to see Little Einsteins in person. “JUNE!…LEO!….ANNIE!…ROCKET!!!!” It was like the first time she had rode a train, one of the most amazing moments of her whole 3 years of life.
Well I thought about telling about the plane ride home, but let’s just say it was considerably less fun than Disneyland (but maybe slightly more fun than running 26.2 miles 😉
We also saw all sorts of family in California, Aunt Märia, Uncle Mike, Sarah, Jason, Aunt Rhonda, Uncle Bob, Corey, Bryan, Allyn, and all 5 of their dogs and 1 cat. That was pretty cool. the adults looked the same and the kiddos were all growing up. They don’t stop growing do they.
1) Congratulations on running a marathon! I am in awe! I am still struggling with my 3 miles a day . . .
2) I think you look GREAT in the pictures, and have no idea what you are talking about. You are beautiful.
3) I hoped we would get posts on Steven and the girls in Texas, and posts on all your thoughts while they were gone. I miss your blogging a lot!
Wow! I love the Pix. Congrats on doing the Marathon. What was your time? The boys time? did you stay together? Gosh I wish I was there to see it.
I am hoping to do the Rock n Roll Marathon in San Antonio, Probably just the half marathon. But at least I can walk again, I did 5 miles last weekend. and Hope to do a 10K this coming weekend.
I am so glad you had a great trip.
God bless you,
Mom
Congratulations on completing your first marathon and welcome to the marathoner’s family; it takes about two weeks before you start getting thought about doing a second one. I will join you for that one!
I am glad you guys enjoyed your Southern Californian vacation!
Love, Dad
We did all stay together. 6:40:40. My next one is the Maui Marathon, Sept 20th. My goal being 5:59:59. Very excited. Marathons give the phrase Runner’s High a whole new meaning. I’m still on Cloud 9.
I am so PROUD of you! Congratulations! BTW: you look just BEAUTIFUL in all your picutres, even the ones taken during the race.
Love you,
Mom
