Updates Bulletin Style

I keep on writing these posts that sound so drab and don’t publish them since I sound so less than entertaining. Consequently, there’s hasn’t been (as) much stuff from me lately (I’m a big believer in quality over quantity). I’ve just really got to get over this writer’s bump (that’s smaller than a writer’s block…I hope). So here goes…

– I saw Confessions of A Shopaholic today. I loved it more than I should admit. Buying clothes is one of the best natural highs in my opinion (this is one character flaw that drives Steven crazy). Seriously is there anything better than bring home a pretty new shirt and then putting it on and having that new clothes feeling all day. Today, I just bought new shoes over the net (they were justified though, every thing I’ve read says no flats for the runner’s feet, so I got these totally cute runner/flat/arch support shoes, in tan/sky blue and brown/pink).

– I ran 5.4 miles all at once, like with no walking in there. Mind you it was a VERY slow run, but it’s a start. I’ve probably made my point enough for you, but not enough for me so let me tell you again. My body feels like I’ve been run over by 3 monster trucks. I’ll get there and then I’ll be able to say I ran a marathon and then I doubt I’ll do another one, but hopefully I’ll keep running.

– And while I’m on the running business, everyone kept on asking me if I’d lost weight, to which I said no. But then I realized I hadn’t weighed myself in about 2 months, so I stepped on the scale and dum-dum-da- only 6 pounds over the pre-baby weight! I was like holy cow! (the mommy tummy blob is still there BTW, I don’t do the whole sit-up thing, it’s boring)

-I looked like a stroke victim today with one side of my face completely numb from novacane. Dentist chairs totally suck, they don’t get any better as you get older. In fact I’d say they just get worse since your teeth only get worse.

-I think all the evaluations are panning out pretty normal for the girls and hopefully we’ll be done with this whole process in a couple of months. And eventually they’ll get up to speed and people won’t look at me like I totally suck at this motherhood thing, that would really be nice.

– Church with the girls is getting a little better. Seporah sits quite nicely through sacrament meeting, Felicity does not. Seporah loves Sunbeams, except for closing exercises where she comes to nursery. Felicity loves nursery, although since she’s not 18 months I have to stay with her.

-And next week, dum-da-dum I start 6 weeks of working night shift. I am really scared, you have no clue. Should you start to see more spelling and grammatical errors, I’m going to blame it on sleep deprivation.

  2. Yikes, really night shift??? Wow, I’m practically asleep at 7, and if I sit down anywhere in the house, but my bed, I can’t move until 10 or 11. One of my best friends has 5 kids and she does a couple of night shifts a week. She says she prefers it because it’s quiet at night. Amazing, that’s all I have to say, you guys are amazing. You deserve to go out and get that new pretty shirt and have that new shirt feeling all day! Good luck!!
