I Have Ran/Jogged/Walked/Crawled 17 Miles in the Last Week

Holy Cow, every inch of my body is screaming. I’m not sure how I’m going to make it 26.2 miles all at once, but I will! I’m thinking about raising money for a good cause, but not for the reason you think. See I figure if I take other people’s money to run a marathon, I’ll have to complete it despite my body telling me this is the dumbest idea ever.

I have a co-worker who’s 7 inches shorter than me and has 7 years on me. Last year she ran the Honolulu marathon in 4 hours and 40 minutes. Rest assured, that will not be me. My goal is to cross the finish line in 6 hours and 29 minutes (that’s just under a 15 minute mile) and then to have someone else carry me the 20 feet to first aid.

    By the way, I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis but the good news is that with some work I will be able to run again. Maybe even run with you in your 2nd marathon. WOOYOO; say YEA!

  2. my highest weeks are 20 miles, but doesn’t happen often.
    you are encouraging me, however, I still think my favorite length of race is 5k

  3. Yay for Märia!!!! You go girl. The girls and I will be cheering for you along on the side lines. You know you are making me look like a complete loser don’t you? Jason has never said these words but I’m sure he thinks them…. “Steven gets to run with his wife, why can’t I?”
