I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Too stressed to unwind the tight screw I’ve screwed. I realized yesterday from [everyone else’s] laughing that it had caught up with me at work:
You can see the TV in the playroom from the nurse’s station. It was 6am and there was this exercise thing playing on Discovery Health with Diamond Head in the background. Someone said, “Look, they’re down by Waikiki.” My response, “No they’re not, it’s dark outside right now.” Cue laughter.
These special lunch trays were sent up with catfish and cornbread. One of my patient’s mom asked why. I couldn’t remember the term Black History Month, instead I said, “It’s National Black Day.” The Dad-who thankfully was white-was drinking soda and spewed it out.
There was a lady fro the East Coast that called to offer to donate knitted hats to our children with cancers. “We’ve got plenty of those,” I said. “Hats?” “No, cancer kiddos.” My co-workers-who only heard my side-busted up at this point.
BTW, I’m on a total Colbie Caillat kick that’s thoroughly annoying my husband at this point.
LOL!!! Thank you Mària! I needed a good laugh. And these last couple of posts have had me in stitches. 🙂
I love you,
Mom Deb
P.S. I have been in tears most of the day. (First full day back at work and my LEFT leg is killing me[Charlie horses]) Remember my surgery was on the RIGHT heel. I have had very little pain and no trouble from my right side. But wearing a knee high boot that is 7 inches wide and 2 foot long(only slight exaggeration!!!!) Really does a number on the other leg.
Well i must be blond as well under these roots. First I put the wrong “à” then i post twice saying the same thing. Sorry!
