Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam

Do you have any clue how many times I have sung Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam to Seporah? A lot, let’s just leave it at that. Seporah never even made an attempt to sing it with me…ever. But one Sunday in Sunbeams was all it took and all of a sudden it’s her favorite song (seriously, I thought this Mom is sooo uncool thing didn’t start until they were at least 11). I’ve tried several times to get her singing it on camera, but every time I bring it out she clams up. So here are the words to the song. The capitalized words are the words she sings.

Jesus wants me for a SUNBEAM,
To shine for Him each DAY;
In every way try to PLEASE HIM,
At HOME, at SCHOOL, at PLAY.

A SUNBEAM, a SUNBEAM,
Jesus wants me for a SUNBEAM,
A SUNBEAM, a SUNBEAM,
I’ll be a sunbeam for HIM.

  1. Believe me, the ones who haven’t had their moms singing it to them bunches will not be singing any of the words for quite some time…you’ve pulled her ahead in singing! That’s my girl, Go Mar & Seporah!
    Love, kisses, & LOTS of primary songs,
    Mom/Grandma
