This morning I could not find my phone. I looked in all the usual places and it wasn’t there. This is unusual, Steven’s the one who loses the keys, phone, wallet, etc. I asked Steven, to which he said, you were talking on the phone last night in bed, try there. My first thought was no I wasn’t, I went right to sleep. And then I remembered, Steven gave me the phone and it was my brother Russell. He was making a joke, but I was so asleep I couldn’t follow him. All I kept thinking was how can you be awake, you’re 2 hours ahead of me? He keeps on laughing. I couldn’t even ask him what was funny. “We’re pregnant!” “Oh, congratulations!” I couldn’t think of a proper response, I said congratulations like 5 times and just kept thinking, watch it, you’re gonna end up this tired in a few months.
It’s surreal to have your brother tell you he’s gonna have a baby. Even though he’s older, we haven’t lived in the same state in a few years and I don’t really think of him as 25 (yes, I’m 25 as well, no, we’re not twins, we’re 9 1/2 months apart). I’m also sitting here thinking my sister-in-law will weight the same amount at 9 months pregnant as I was pre-kids (not exaggerating, and she’s the same height as me, I want some naturally really skinny genes). But yeah! Russell and Leslie are gonna have a little monster (which means I have an excuse to go shopping)!
Hurray!! Congratulations Leslie and Russel!!!
Okay, to my defense, I kinda figured that you would be up at that hour. (It was only 8PM). It still doesn’t feel real yet, I’m guessing that will come soon enough.
No more long sleepful nights I guess.
So exciting, but the other grandchildren all came 2 at a time, just wondering if anyone else will be expecting before this little one is born.
Can’t hardly wait to spoil and cuddle this one too.
BTW: I am really hoping for another girl; Russell and Leslie say if it’s a girl, they will name her Märia Christine. That would be a 6th generation of Märia in our family.
Love,
Mom
I doubt this one will have a playmate. I think I need a break and I imagine so does Heather. And if Josh has a baby, well, let’s just hope that doesn’t happen 🙂
Well either way, I’m sure our kid will ABSOLUTELY enjoy playing with his/her older cousins. 🙂
As for a boy’s name we are thinking of going with Tristan Dale. (Tristan because we like the way it sounds, and Dale after Leslie’s late grandfather.)
🙂 🙂 😉
