A Happy Birthday to the Wonderful One a Day Late
My Monday schedule is nasty. School starts at 11 am and ends at 945 or so at night, and then I ride the bus home. I normally get home around 11, as the bus doesn’t come until 1020 or so and then has to stop all along the way. But if you are a regular reader of this blog, you will remember Märia mentioning that there is no school this week. So Märia decided to grab the kids and pick me up last night as a surprise. She really is wonderful.
So I didn’t actually get to see Märia and the girls much yesterday, as I was at school all day, but she took care of the girls while she was sick, and when they picked me up everyone seemed super happy. It is really amazing how often I come home and everyone is happy. The girls are absolutely exhausting, so I understand when I get home and Märia needs a break, but when I get home they are all super happy and I know that is because Märia took great care of everyone while I was gone.
So Märia is a great mom and we all know she is a super empathetic competent nurse. She fills one more serious function I should mention. She serves as my brain and external memory storage. My personal memory recall is so incredibly poor that I spend half of our conversations “uploading” if you will my memories and plans and assignments and appointments to her “server” if you will, so that she can remind me of just about everything. This almost certainly drives her nuts, but she does everything she can to take care of me. My wife is awesome!
