makakilo ward antics
I go to church at one of the Makakilo wards on drill weekends and it never fails to entertain. Â Something crazy always happens. Â Today a newly married couple moved into the ward and got to speak and do their introductions and all that. Â So this girl gets up and I swear she isn’t a day over 18 but she later told us she is 21. Â Turns out she met her husband on her mission. Â Let me try to quote her: Â ”so when I got back home from my mission I flew right back to him and we hooked up and stuff.” Â *giggles* Â she totally looks embarrassed and tries to fix it. Â ”i mean, we didn’t “hook up” hook up, we just started dating”. Â The congregation is rolling by now and she is beet red. Â I actually felt really bad for her although the laughter was infectious (as crowd laughter tends to be).

So, if she met her husband on HER mission and completed it, she must be over 22 as young women cannot go on missions until age 21 and the mission lasts 18 months.
I bet she was truly embarrassed, but hopefully she took the crowd laughter as a positive sign that they would like to get to know her and her husband.
