I’m not as funny as Märia, but here is an update

Seporah told her first joke.  I mean, she tells jokes all the time, but she told her first joke that was meant to be a joke, and that she personally found humorous.  Wait, that reminds me of something.  Let me tell you one of my favourite of her accidental jokes, that she actually meant seriously.

The other day we went to the Ponahou carnival and we were waiting in line to go on the ferris wheel.  Seporah understands the concept of waiting in line, and she was confident that should knew where I was and could get back to me, so she looks up at me, and with the sincerest look on her face says, “Daddy, you wait here, I be back”.  Now we tell her to “wait here” all the time, but when she was saying it to me, because she wanted to go explore, well, it was the most hilarious thing ever.  Seriously.

So on to her first on-purpose joke.  Seporah was eating chicken and I looked at her plate and she had finished it up.  So I asked her if she wanted more chicken.  She said, “No more chicken”, she had a short pause, then she sang “jumping on the bed!”.  She then laughed at herself, and sang “No more chickens jumping on the bed!” like 10 times or so.  She thought it was the most hilarious thing ever!  The joke, in case you don’t remember the little kid song, is that she and her sister always sing this little song, “5 little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head, mama called the doctor and the doctor said, no more monkeys jumping on the bed!”
