Amy Lee Sings Sally’s Song, How Cool is That?
Just in case anyone’s wondering, I’m a married woman with children, a house and a job who’s obsessed with Twilight. It comes out in less than a month and I am far too excited to think about much else. So probably all of my posts in the next month will contain some snippet about the upcoming movie or book or something to do with Edward Cullen. BTW, I am so psyched my Dad is reading Twilight, imagine that, my Dad!
Anyways, Paramore’s (great band, think Evanescence meets Avril Lavigne) lead singer is also obsessed apparently. She wrote two songs about the book, then wrote the director and asked for them to be in the movie. They are, the soundtrack comes out in a few days and I thought I’d pre-order it on iTunes. For some strange reason it’s not there. However a whole other CD caught my eye.
The Nightmare Before Christmas came out in 1993 to critical acclaim and has a small cult following since (in fact I’m sure they still sell Jack and Sally costumes for the hard-core cultists). For those who have never seen it, the movie is a stop-action claymation directed by Tim Burton with an AWESOME soundtrack. Jack, the Pumpkin King, gets tired of running Halloween and decides he’s going to run Christmas instead (believe me this movie is way cooler than it sounds).
The CD that caught my eye is the soundtrack re-recoreded by artists like The All-American Rejects, Plain White T’s, Korn, Flyleaf and Evanescence’s Amy Lee. I’m listening to it right now, it makes me want to watch the movie again before I go to bed (not actually going happen as I get to wake up at 4am tomorrow for work). Seriously awesome though, go get your own.
