The Epitome of Laziness

by Märia on March 30, 2008

3 Years Ago: So when Steven and I heard about the idea of Uncrustables, we were both shocked. Uncrustables are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the crusts taken off and frozen. All you do to eat them is take them out of the freezer, unwrap and enjoy. We said we would never use them, there would never come a time where we couldn’t just grab the bread, peanut butter, jelly and knife and put it together.

Flash Forward to Today: We’re eating Uncrustables for dinner.

The thing is, with the frozen stuff, you don’t have to :
1. go to bread box to find your bread has turned green, so
2. get both children ready to leave the house (baths, clothes without too many stains, 2 shoes for Seporah-tricky with a 2 year old)
3. drive to the commissary (which for you means half hour each way with traffic and gates)
4. remember the bread once you get into the commissary and see all the other stuff you’re out of at home
5. struggle with bags and two children when you get back home (not to mention the stairs and/or elevator
6. finally make the PB&J only to have Seporah turn up her nose at it in favor of the fresh fruit you just bought.

Yea, I’m putting it in your life’s terms, but believe me, it happened when you were little too. If they had the frozen ones, think I would have grabbed them then. Eat, enjoy, and let any guilt go. You just saved yourself a bunch of headaches with the frozen stuff.

Love you bunches,
Mom
